Scripps Ranch Real Estate

Scripps Ranch has become the ideal place to live for young families. With plenty of open space for kids to play in and families to spend weekends together in, and with neighborhoods built like they used to be—with wide streets and trees to provide shade—the area has become known for its family-friendly atmosphere. Just east of I-15, you'll find middle- and upper middle-class homes, surrounded by large yards that are perfect for a swing set.

Parents pick the location for its terrific public schools and safe surroundings. Children here play soccer, baseball and basketball in organized leagues, and join Scouting troops at their local schools. Miramar Lake, bordering Scripps Ranch, is a great place to teach kids how to fish, and the whole family will enjoy the hiking trails there. Part of the area is set aside as a nature preserve, and the scents of eucalyptus and pine fill the air on summer evenings.

The community was built on a principle of convenience, and Scripps Ranch residents never need to drive very far to find a grocery store or a pharmacy. The area is also home to lots of small businesses unique to the neighborhood.

The area is near several business parks, including one actually in Scripps Ranch, home to Geico Insurance. Many of the residents work in these parks, giving them a short, easy commute home in the evenings. Those who commute to downtown San Diego face about a half-hour drive in the mornings and evenings.

Most of the families that live in Scripps Ranch are middle- to upper-middle-class. In 2004, the median price of a single-family home was about $700,000; the price of a condo was about $430,000. While families with kids are the prevalent demographic here, Scripps Ranch also has a sizeable young, single community and an active senior community. Scripps Ranch real estate is, as always, a wise investment.
