Morena Real Estate

Morena is one of San Diego's busiest business districts. Lined with warehouse style stores selling anything from furniture to boat supplies to equip fishermen on nearby Mission Bay, Morena has anything you need.

Morena residents like that their neighborhood is so centrally located. The area connects Old Town to Mission Beach, and from here it's an easy commute to downtown—just a few minutes away via the San Diego Trolley, even shorter by bus, and not too far on bike.

When Morena residents want to get out of their neighborhood, they often make the short trip to Old Town, where it's easy to grab a little bit of relaxation at one of the great Mexican restaurants there. Favorites are the fresh tortillas made on site, and the cold margaritas that are especially popular in the summer months. Many residents also bring their kids to Old Town to learn about the history and heritage behind Southern California. This is the same reason that people come from all over the country to check out Old Town.

On the other side of Morena are the shores of Mission Beach, equally popular among tourists for its wooden rollercoaster, The Giant Dipper, the surrounding amusement park, and, of course, the sheer amusement of the waves. Beachgoers can rent bodyboards and surf boards here and even take a surfing lesson—vital if you're going to live so close to the beach.

Many of Morena's residents either commute downtown or work in some of the retail establishments on Morena Boulevard.

Real estate in Morena is some of the most affordable in the city of San Diego, although there are not a lot of single family homes in the district. Many of Morena's homes actually bleed into surrounding communities. Homes here sell for an average of about $424,785 as of February 2006.
